Wanted alve : Peerless P825 FM
Hello,
My name is Jan and I'm from Holland. I live now in the province of Friesland in the north of the Netherlands, hence my medlem name.
I lived in Norway in the early 90's, so reading Danish is not a problem for me.
I collect hifi utstyr since since the early 70's when I was a small kid. The result is a large collection of speakers and other utstyr from B&O, Mirsch, Sinus, Acoustic Research, Tandberg cassettedecks/amps, Sansui tube amps, Pioneer tube amps, Sony walkmans and -of course- Philips radios.
I'm looking for wiring diagram info (electric diagram) on Bang&Olufsen HI-FI 607 and I need a Peerless P825 FM unit for the 607. This is a dual-cone unit, 5-8 Ohms, since I got the 607 cabinet without a speaker unit and wiring
Medlem "Cockernes herre" gave me the advice to ask for the speaker on this forum.
So :
WANTED ALIVE : Peerless P825 FM unit
I hope you have info on the HI-FI 607 or a Peerless P825 FM unit available
Med hjertelig hilsen
Jan

Hej Jan
Et diagram burde ikke være nødvendig, da enheden er forbundet direkte til de to stikdåser under bunden.
Jeg har sådant et sæt (ikke til salg) så hvis du mangler nogle detaljer så spørg

Re: Wanted alve : Peerless P825 FM
@ Per
Thanks for the info pointing out the direct wiring of the speaker unit to the connectors. Now I understand why the B&O hojtone rundspreder (highly desired after repairing the 607) has a capacitor included. I thought they were connected to a dedicated tweeter (high frequencies only) connector of the 607.
@ Klausen
Thanks for the link to the Romanian site. However, from the photos provided, the offered cabinet seems to be containing the P825W-16Ohm. This means it is the real woofer, not the dual-cone version.
@Claus
I’m very curious to hear from you on any findings in the lager :-)
I have sent a message to Jan on dba.dk to find out if he has a P825-FM for sale.
@Carsten
Thanks for the links to the catalogs. I had already some pages, but I’ve completed my versions now.

Re: Wanted alve : Peerless P825 FM
Hello all,
As I did not find a Peerless P825FM for the moment, I bought a Philips 9710M here in Holland . This type is older than the AD9710M, so end 50's. I think it matches the specifications of the Peerless P825FM driver more or less. Tonight I will fit the speaker in the cabinet. I hope it meets my expectations!
I'll keep you posted

Re: Wanted alve : Peerless P825 FM
Dear Jan
As I recall I have seen some measurements on the Peerless driver and it did not have that huge increase over 2 kHz as the 9710 does so they might sound quite different. The 9710 is really not meant to be pointing at the listenter but upwwards or backwards.

Maybe you can removal the wizzer-come from your P825 and put it on the U-model?

Re: Wanted alve : Peerless P825 FM
@DrBoar
Interesting what you write about the Philips 9710M speaker unit. I see the 2kHz peak in the technical information on the 9710M.
Do you happen to have a frequency curve for the Peerless P825FM? Then we can compare and see if the Peerless has a more flat response.
I'm not so sure on your comment that the Philips 9710M double cone speaker should point upwards. This was of course the implementation by Sonab, but I think the unit was applied in various table top radios by Philips. In those casings is was pointing directly to the listeners.
@Hackenberg
Thanks for the link. However, I cannot transplant the small cone since the B&O Hi-Fi 607 cabinet I acquired did not contain a speaker unit nor wiring.
